DeAngelo Opens Jobs 4 Jersey Kiosk at 14th District Outreach Office
Assemblyman Partnered with the State Department of Labor and Workforce Development To Help Jobs Seekers find Opportunities, Employers Identify Employees
(HAMILTON) – Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo (D-Hamilton) recently partnered with the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD) to create a Jobs 4 Jersey kiosk at his 14th Legislative Constituent Outreach Center in order to provide access to the online portal – www.Jobs4Jersey.com – to job seekers and well as prospective employers.
Through the DOLWD, the Jobs 4 Jersey program allows job seekers to create an online account complete with their resume to search for available opportunities. Additionally, potential employers can post job openings or search the database of resumes to find the best potential candidates to consider filling vacancies. There is no cost to employers or workers for using the Jobs 4 Jersey program.
“More and more businesses of all sizes are posting job openings online. Unfortunately, not all potential employees have easy accessibility to computers in order to find these opportunities which creates a gap between an employee and potential employer. The Jobs 4 Jersey program closes that gap to find a compatible employer- employee connection,” said DeAngelo. “In under a half hour, a job seeker can create an online resume and begin their job search to find jobs that best suit their skill set and potential employer.”
There are an estimated 12,000 employers with a total of 300,000 to 400,000 job openings and 395,000 candidates currently utilizing the Jobs 4 Jersey program. Available opportunities are in the public sector as well as private industry. It also provides information on job fairs, workshops, and seminars that may be helpful for job seekers to brush-up on their skills or meet employers face-to-face. Individuals receiving unemployment benefits are required to establish an account with the Jobs 4 Jersey program in order to assist in their job search that will put them back to work in a timely fashion.
“Not a day goes by that someone does not talk to me about the difficult job market whether it is about their efforts to find a job or a business owner struggling to find the best match for an open position. Through Jobs 4 Jersey and this kiosk in my office, both employer and employee can perhaps find it a little bit easier to connect through this easy and accessible program,” said DeAngelo.
There also are Job Clubs that help prospective employees interact with specific “talent networks” that represent the three-quarters of the New Jersey workforce. “Talent networks” exist in: advanced manufacturing, hospitality/leisure, health care, FEMA, financial services, life sciences, transportation/logistics/distribution, technology/entrepreneurship, and retail services.
The Jobs 4 Jersey kiosk will be available at the DeAngelo Community Outreach Center located at The Shoppes at Nottingham Pointe 4621A Nottingham Way in Hamilton Monday through Friday 9:30 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday (with the exception of holidays).
