(EAST WINDSOR, NJ) – Assembly members Wayne P. DeAngelo and Tennille R. McCoy and State Senator Linda Greenstein (all D-Mercer, Middlesex) joined local and county officials to cut the ribbon last week on the Wiltshire Park Pedestrian Bridge in East Windsor. Funding for the bridge was part of the $1.25 million secured in the Fiscal Year 2026 State budget appropriated for the township to make municipal and police facility upgrades.

The new bridge replaces an old, dilapidated one that was closed for several years due to safety concerns.

“We are excited that the bridge was opened just in time for the beginning of the new school year,” said Assemblyman DeAngelo. “Investments in infrastructure upgrades like this are critically important. Keeping our children safe is a top priority and that includes making sure students can get from their neighborhoods to the park and to the school. The Wiltshire Park Pedestrian Bridge will help them do just that.”

Residents use the bridge to access the local park and students use it as a thruway to get to school.

“Prior to the reopening of the bridge, residents, and particularly children, were required to take a lengthy detour to reach the nearby playground or local school,” Assemblywoman McCoy stated. "Now, with the Wiltshire Park Pedestrian Bridge, students have a shorter route to school, and residents can access the park with ease.”

“I’m overjoyed that we were able to secure the necessary funding to complete this important project,” said Senator Greenstein. “The new Wiltshire Park Pedestrian Bridge not only improves safety for students and families, but also strengthens our community by making it easier for residents to enjoy our local parks and public spaces. This is exactly the kind of investment that enhances quality of life in East Windsor.”
