(TRENTON) - Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo (D-Mercer, Middlesex) issued the following statement regarding the federal government's termination of the Solar for All program:
“One thing that has been abundantly clear as we work to address energy affordability is that we need more sources of energy generation in New Jersey, not fewer. The federal government’s termination of the Solar for All program creates an unwanted and unnecessary impediment to achieving that goal. This program was supposed to offset the cost of solar energy for thousands of New Jersey households.
“Not only will this decision leave families and communities scrambling to find affordable alternatives, but it will also deal a major blow to the clean energy industry as a whole. As Chair of the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee, I condemn the termination of this program in the strongest terms possible and urge the federal government to reconsider.”
