STATEMENT

The purpose of this bill is to require full disclosure of all campaign contributions to the Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC). At present, a political committee, continuing political committee, legislative leadership committee, political party committee, candidate committee, or joint candidates committee is not obligated to report to ELEC the name and address of a contributor of $300 or less. This bill would require, instead, that contributions of any amount be reported.
