STATEMENT

This resolution honors the 60th Anniversary of the State Troopers Fraternal Association (STFA). The STFA has been in operation since October 28, 1963, acting as the collective bargaining association for rank-and-file New Jersey State Troopers. Through its advocacy, the STFA has protected the rights of its members and improved the safety of the citizens of New Jersey. The STFA has ensured that there is a swift and fair process for the settlement of grievances brought both for and against members of the organization. The Association has also provided financial and other assistance to members who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.

The New Jersey State Police play an important role in protecting the safety of all citizens of the State of New Jersey, as well as providing guidance and support to law enforcement throughout the state. The STFA supports the mission of State Troopers who willingly put their lives on the line every day in the spirit of honor, duty, and fidelity. It is appropriate that the Governor and Legislature recognize the legacy of work already performed and commemorate the ongoing mission.
